About Kieva

Kieva D’Angelo is the founder and owner of KIEVA Speech Therapy. On the weekends you’ll find Kieva in the mountains rock climbing, ice climbing, or hiking. Her passion for the outdoors stems from her upbringing in upstate New York where she graduated with honors in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Plattsburgh. Kieva holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and is fully licensed to practice in Colorado.

Kieva specializes in Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) systems for pediatric populations. In her career, she has assumed many leadership roles to improve how AAC needs are identified, and is passionate about spreading knowledge and awareness of AAC through her experiences in the following roles;

1) Certified AT/AAC Consultant for the State of Colorado’s Tech for Tykes Program

2) Council member for AT/AAC in Early Intervention Council

3) Statewide Assistive Technology, Augmentative Alternative Communication Coordinator

4) Clinical supervisor for graduate clinicians

5) Guest lecturer and presenter

Kieva is a firm believer that regardless of age, diagnosis, and perceived levels of ability, every child deserves access to communication that is made inclusive/accessible to them. Kieva’s approach to therapy cultivates an atmosphere of acceptance, mutual respect, and empowerment such that her clients become experts in understanding their own individual needs, and develop self-advocacy skills.

Kieva is seen smiling up at the camera wearing a neon pink rock climbing helmet adorned in stickers, wearing a hiking backpack, and is harnessed up rappelling herself off of a cliff through a narrow rock cave.
